The regional council Matte Yehuda is located on the historical site of the original Tribe of Yehuda, spanning from the Mediterranean Sea in  the West to the Dead Sea in the East.

Throughout the history of the Jewish people, this area has been the locus of many tumultuous changes. Its pastoral green scenery has been witness to dramatic events that affected the entire nation, such as the rebellion of the Maccabim, Samson’s war, and the revolt led by Bar Kochva against the Roman Empire.

Thousands of years of history have passed over these grounds, and there are still archaeological remains to be found in the council’s forests and sites. These are a locus of attraction for domestic and international.
